Q. Which BLE devices are supported?

We have proven connectivity with more than 100 devices including iBeacon, BLE5, blood pressure monitors, thermometers, motion sensors, distance sensors, and tags. New devices can be added on the cloud side alone thanks to our firmware-less technology.

Q. Can you connect our own BLE products?

Yes. Bluetooth products you developed in-house — including pairing and GATT services — can be controlled through the cloud. We also support over-the-air (OTA) software updates over BLE. We will need the device specification on our side to enable support, so please get in touch.

Q. Where should I install the gateway?

Just plug it into a power outlet. Wi-Fi setup is a simple browser flow — no electrical work or complex configuration required. Install several units at one site to cover a wide area.

Q. How far does the BLE signal reach?

Roughly 10 m in typical conditions. Devices that support BLE5 Long Range (Coded PHY) can reach about 100 m line-of-sight.

Q. Are you compliant with medical device regulations such as FDA?

Specific regulatory requirements should be discussed case by case. obniz holds ISMS (ISO 27001) certification, and our service uses TLS 1.2 with elliptic-curve cryptography for secure communication by default.
